I saw her moving through the hall with a bounce in her step,
and a radiant smile on her face. She was an attractive lady, but that was
really not what grabbed my attention. No, it was her stilettos, which were
covered in brightly coloured flowers. She stood tall and walked with
confidence. Those shoes would not, nor could not, be worn by just anyone.
Her shoes were very symbolic to me, of a secure, vibrant person,
that knows how to enjoy life. She looked as though she was walking through the
most beautiful spring garden. Could it be that was the message that she was
trying to convey, knowing or unknowingly? That she had arrived at a place in
her life, where she was confident, that no matter what circumstances we walked
through, if we are hidden in Christ we could see gardens grow in dessert places
in our lives. We do not have to become dehydrated spiritually, just because we
are in a dessert circumstance. If we tap into that ever flowing well, water will
begin to flow into us, and cause our parched land to flourish. Then like that
lady, we could always have our feet planted on beautiful ground surrounded by
spring flowers. Always walking with confidence in the one that is there to
guide our way, and clear any debris from our path. For he is truly our way in
the wilderness and river in the dessert.
My Dearest Papa God, thank-you that you watch over our life. Please show me how to enter into your rest no matter what circumstance I may face. I know that you want me to flourish. Help me to remain confident in you, and your willingness to make something beautiful out of everything in my life. I love you and I give you praise. In Jesus’ name Amen
Isaiah 61:1-3
The Voice (VOICE) -Bible Translation.
61 The Spirit of the Lord, the Eternal, is on me.
The Lord has
appointed me for a special purpose.
He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to
repair broken hearts,
And to declare to those who are held captive and bound in prison,
“Be free from your
imprisonment!”
2 He has sent me to announce the year of jubilee, the season
of the Eternal’s favor:
for our enemies it
will be a day of God’s wrath;
For those who mourn it will be a time of comfort.[a]
3 As for those who grieve over Zion,
God has sent me to
give them a beautiful crown in exchange for ashes,
To anoint them with gladness instead of sorrow,
to wrap them in
victory, joy, and praise instead of depression and sadness.
People will call them magnificent, like great towering trees
standing for what
is right.
They stand to the glory of the Eternal
who planted them.
